A significant number of missions are supported by the people of St. Paul. Ministries. They are listed below. Click on each one to find out a little more. St. Paul supports numerous missions locally and throughout the country. As a “Five for Five” church, our church provides support to five different mission efforts through the national church of the United Church of Christ. St. Paul has been a supporter of all five of these missions for more than two decades. Listed below are those 5 for 5 and information about each one.
The oldest special mission offering of the UCC, One Great Hour of Sharing has been transforming lives around the world since 1949. This fund makes it possible for the UCC to provide disaster relief, refugee assistance, development aid and more.
This mission supports ministries of justice and compassion throughout the United States. One third of NIN funds support the Council for American Indian Ministry (CAIM). Two thirds is used by the UCC’s Justice and Witness Ministries (JWM) to provide grants to local churches, supporting a variety of justice initiatives, advocacy efforts and direct service projects.
Our Church’s Wider Mission is an initiative that encourages and supports local
churches, associations, conferences and the national expression of the UCC to
participate in the global, multiracial, multiracial Christian church and to support UCC ministries throughout the nation and the world.
Through the Strengthen the Church program, the national church and local
conferences cooperatively share funds that are used to support leadership
development, new churches, youth ministry, and innovation in existing congregations. These efforts can include a variety of initiatives, such as technological improvements or the development of programs for youth within the church setting.
Previously called “Veterans of the Cross,” this program provides funds to active and retired UCC ministers experiencing financial need. Uses of these monies include pension supplementation, health aid, emergency and monthly supplementation, as well as Christmas gifts for those not able to afford them.
St Paul is involved in serveral areas. Local Ministries is one. Please see below how St Paul keeps involved with local ministries.
