The Consistory is the governing body of St. Paul. Members of the Consistory are elected by the congregation. Composed of ten members serving one year terms, it represents a cross section of the congregation. Married, single, with and without children, individuals who have been members of the church for their entire lives and those who have joined recently, all with a variety of theological perspectives – the Consistory also represents the diversity of our congregation. It makes all decisions regarding the welfare and conduct of the church, including purchases and expenditures, investments, strategic planning and human resource decisions. It works with the Pastor to ensure a meaningful worship experience . The Pastor is an Ex Officio (non-voting) member. Meeting monthly, this body is also responsible for calling congregation meetings for large expenditures and substantive questions which the congregation as a whole must decide. All standing committees report to the Consistory. These include the Worship Committee, Women’s Fellowship, Pastoral Relations, Christian Education and Formation, and Website. The Consistory has four officers: President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary, who also serve one year terms. All terms on the Consistory can be renewed for additional years.
